1. Who we are

2. Our privacy promise — the app collects nothing
TransCastAI is private by default. Transcription, translation and read-aloud all run entirely on your device — your audio, documents and text never leave your machine and are never sent to us. The personal data in this policy is purely commercial data needed to sell, license and support the software, plus optional features you switch on yourself.
3. What we collect, and why

4. Optional online features (you choose)
The app is offline unless you turn something on. Two features can use the internet, each opt-in:
- Premium online translation (DeepL): off by default. If enabled, only the text for that job is sent to DeepL for translation, under DeepL’s own terms.
- Update check: a version check to tell you when a new release is available.
Read-aloud (text-to-speech) is fully on-device and uses no network. Any corrections you make to improve translations are saved privately on your device and are never uploaded to us.
5. Cookies
We use only essential cookies to run the site. With your consent we also load HubSpot (analytics & live chat), which sets its own cookies. Nothing non-essential loads until you accept. You can change your choice any time via Cookie settings in the footer. [Add a full cookie table: name, provider, purpose, duration.]
6. Who we share data with (processors)
- LemonSqueezy — Merchant of Record: payments, global tax, refunds.
- HubSpot — CRM, support, website analytics & chat.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN, our control-plane API and database, security.
- Resend — sending transactional emails (licence, renewal reminders). [Update if you use a different email provider.]
We have data-processing agreements with each. We never sell your personal data.
7. International transfers
Some processors are based outside the UK/EEA (e.g. the USA). Where data is transferred internationally we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses / UK IDTA. [Confirm with each processor.]
8. How long we keep it
We keep commercial records for as long as you hold a licence and for [X years] afterwards to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise them. Marketing consent data is kept until you withdraw. [Set concrete retention periods.]
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR / EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. 10. Children
TransCastAI is not directed at children under [16/18] and we do not knowingly collect their data.
