Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement
These Terms are between you and TRANSCASTAI LTD (“we”, “us”), company number 17397706, registered at 1 Harewood House, London, Greater London, United Kingdom, SW15 3RN. By installing or using TransCastAI you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
2. Licence
- TransCastAI is licensed, not sold. Every edition is the full app (all features); editions differ only by device count and permitted use: Lite — 1 device, personal use · Pro — up to 3 devices, commercial use · Pro-Plus — up to 10 devices, commercial & clinical use. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, 12-month (annual) licence on that basis. A 30-day free trial applies before purchase.
- The licence is validated on your device, renews annually (see §4), and is enforced to its device count. The hosted Cloud offering (when available) is a separate subscription.
- You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the licensing of the software, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
3. Updates
Updates to your edition are included during your licence year and are provided from our website; the app notifies you when a new version is available.
4. Renewal & expiry
- Your licence runs for 12 months from purchase and renews on payment of the then-current renewal fee.
- Early-renewal discount: where offered, renewing within 90 days before expiry receives 10% off; a renewed term is added to your current expiry date so you do not lose time. A two-year prepayment option with a 15% discount may also be offered.
- We send reminders before expiry. If you do not renew, the app moves to a read-only mode (you can finish and export current work) and stops starting new sessions until you renew. It will not stop mid-session.
5. Price, payment & tax
Prices are shown on our site in GBP and may change for future purchases or renewals. TransCastAI is currently in development: no payment provider, customer checkout, invoicing or payment collection is active. Before any paid launch, these Terms will identify the applicable payment and tax arrangements.
6. Refunds
- 14-day refund window: request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are processed by our payment provider and reviewed on a case-by-case basis; requesting within this window does not guarantee approval. Where a refund is approved, your licence is revoked and must no longer be used.
- UK/EU consumers: by choosing immediate download/access at checkout you expressly consent to us beginning supply immediately and acknowledge you thereby lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel; the voluntary refund window above still applies, subject to the payment provider's review.
- After 14 days licences are non-refundable and not pro-rated, except where required by law (e.g. the software is faulty or not as described — your statutory rights are unaffected).
7. Optional online features
The premium online translation engine and update checks are opt-in. Enabling them sends limited data online as described in the Privacy Policy. All other processing, including any corrections you make to improve translations, stays on your device.
8. Acceptable use
You are responsible for using TransCastAI lawfully and for the content you process with it, including obtaining any consents required to record or transcribe others.
9. Accuracy disclaimer (important)
TransCastAI is an assistive tool. Automated transcription and translation can contain errors and must not be relied upon as a substitute for a qualified human translator or interpreter, particularly in medical, legal, clinical, safety-critical or other high-stakes contexts. You are responsible for verifying outputs before relying on them.
10. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own all rights in the software, models, voices, glossaries and branding. Permissively-licensed components (e.g. the Piper TTS engine and its voices) remain under their own licences.
11. Warranties & liability
The software is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or consumers’ statutory rights. Subject to that, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate a licence for breach of these Terms or on refund/chargeback. On termination you must stop using the software.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified and the version/date above updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
